Wayfoong House - HSBC Vancouver, BC Located on a prominent corner in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown, the five-storey Wayfoong House portrays a contemporary interpretation of Asian-inspired themes of water, earth, and prosperity. From the street level entrance, an escalator takes customers up through a two-storey space, to the banking hall and private client services on the second floor. Meeting rooms for client and in-house use are located on both the second and third floors, with the majority of administrative functions located on the third floor. While respecting the principles of Feng Shui, the classical Chinese elements and curved forms used in planning enhance the perception of spaciousness. Winner: 1996 Award of Excellence - Interior Designers' Institute of British Columbia |
